What Matters?
Updated: Feb 12, 2020
This week I want you to think about what really matters to you...

Our day-to-day can get pretty hectic, especially if you're running a business.
So, let me ask you, what does a typical day look like for you? A "day in the life of [ insert name here ]" kind of situation.
What are your responsibilities?
What needs to get done?
What would you like to get done?
After you've come up with your list (take all the time you need), what on that list matters, like REALLY matters?
Now look, before I tell you to focus on the things that truly matter, and to prioritize those things first, I know we all have the mundane, but necessary, tasks that need to get done...
Family
Friends (maintaining a social life!)
Laundry
Housekeeping
Dinner
Errands
Kids' sports
Work
Business matters
Managing employees
Your ever-growing misc. to-do list
The list could go on....
So I want to encourage you this week to not remove anything from your list of responsibilities, but to do 2 things:
Prioritize - What are the most important things? The stuff that has to get done (this can definitely include things you want to do), and the stuff no one else but YOU can do.
Delegate - How can you share some of the things on your plate? I've said it before and I'll say it again, one of my favorite sayings is, "Do it, dump it, or delegate it." For those of us who think the only way something will be done right is to just do it ourselves, yes, I totally feel you... But here's another favorite saying of mine, "You can teach a man to fish, or fish for him the rest of his life." When you take the time to teach someone how to do something the right way, you know you can delegate it and move on to the things that matter most.
So, with that said, take some time to sit down and prioritize the things that matter most in your life. The only one who can change your situation is YOU.
Something to think about...
